Customs officers prevent heroin import
Customs officers have prevented the import of a large batch of heroin (105 kg) to Armenia. Turkey citizen Ferdi Ozdemir tried to import the drug from Iran to our country, hidden in a refrigerator truck, which belongs to a company registered in Georgia. The contraband, discovered in Meghri checkpoint through an X-ray exam, was brought to Yerevan with special supervision. Here the National Security Service joined the process of extracting the drug from the hidden place and took the case under its control. SRC says that Armenian-Iranian customs point is the most high-risk point in this aspect.
