Yelk Alliance leaves extraordinary session of National Assembly

15:02 20 Dec, 2017

Today the Parliament approved the law on Civil Procedure by 98 votes in favor. When voting on the bill on making changes and addendums in the Judicial Code on second reading, Yelk Alliance announced that they are not going to take part in the voting. Gevorg Petrosyan from Tsarukyan Alliance urged to make the same decision. In the result, the bill was approved by 63 votes in favor, although the board showed the number 61. The Speaker of the Parliament clarified that MP Makhmudyan’s button did not work. Another vote in favor was from Arpine Hohvannisyan, who was absent from the session, but had previously confirmed that she was going to vote in favor of the bill. Commotion started after voting. Eduard Sharmazanov ordered to keep order. The members of Yelk Alliance first demanded to repeat the voting, then left the session hall.
