By political agreement, Italian MP Michele Nicoletti became the new President of PACE. The parties take turns on the presidency. The social-democrats elected presidential candidate Nicoletti in October. In PACE he is known for his balanced stance and was one of the MPs demanding the resignation of Agramunt, one of main Azerbaijani lobbysts.

The head of the Armenian delegation to the Assembly touched upon Armenia-EU agreement in her speech, stressing the importance of the document. At the European platform, Arpine Hovhannisyan reminded that the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini had also mentioned that this is the only such agreement, signed between the EU and an EAEU member state.
