Serzh Sargsyan resigns

Serzh Sargsyan resigns

16:20 23 Apr, 2018

The official website of the Prime Minister published the resignation text.

“Dear compatriots,

I appeal to all the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, to senior citizens and to my beloved young people, to men and women,

I appeal to those who were marching on the streets with the demand 'Reject Serge' and to those who reached their workplace with difficulty and fulfilled their duty without complaining.

I appeal to those who were following live transmissions and to those who courageously kept our public safety all day long,

I appeal to our brave soldiers and officers, to my brothers in arms,

I appeal to my fellow party members, to all the political forces and politicians.

Nikol Pashinyan was right. I was wrong. This situation has several solutions, but I won't take any of them. It is not for me. I leave the post of Armenia’s prime minister.

The street movement is against my tenure. I am fulfilling your demand.

I wish our country peace, harmony and reason.

Thank you.”
